The image shows a beetroot (beet) drink, but the claim that drinking one cup before bed can make someone lose 40 pounds (about 18 kg) in 4 weeks is not a reliable or safe weight-loss claim. Beetroot juice can be part of a balanced diet, but it does not cause that amount of weight loss by itself.
Ingredients
- 2 medium fresh beetroots
- 1 apple
- 1 carrot
- ½ cucumber
- ½ lemon
- 1 small piece of fresh ginger
- 250–300 ml cold water
- Ice cubes, optional
Preparation
- Wash the beetroot, carrot, cucumber, apple, lemon, and ginger thoroughly.
- Peel the beetroot and cut it into small pieces.
- Cut the apple and cucumber into pieces.
- Add everything to a blender.
- Pour in the cold water.
- Blend for 1–2 minutes until smooth.
- Strain through a fine sieve if you prefer a thinner juice.
- Add fresh lemon juice.
- Serve immediately, preferably chilled.
Method
The preparation method is blending and straining. Fresh vegetables and fruit are blended with water to extract their flavors and produce a vibrant red drink. Lemon and ginger add freshness and a slightly spicy flavor that balances the natural sweetness of the beetroot and apple.
Serving
Serve approximately one small glass (150–250 ml) as part of a normal balanced diet. It can be consumed with a meal or as a refreshing drink.
Important note
Beetroot contains naturally occurring nitrates and other nutrients, but there is no juice recipe that reliably causes 40 pounds of fat loss in four weeks. Very rapid weight loss can be dangerous. If your goal is weight loss, a gradual calorie deficit combined with nutritious food and regular physical activity is a much safer approach.
