Cheddar Cheese Quick Bread

Savory, moist, and packed with sharp cheddar flavor – no yeast or kneading required!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • 1 cup (120g) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 cup (240ml) whole milk
  • ¼ cup (60ml) vegetable oil

Optional Add-ins:

  • 2 tbsp fresh chives, chopped
  • ¼ cup cooked bacon bits
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika

Instructions:

1. Prep & Mix Dry Ingredients

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir in cheese (and any add-ins).

2. Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, mix egg, milk, and oil.

3. Make Batter

Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients. Stir just until combined (batter will be thick and lumpy).

4. Bake

Transfer to prepared pan. Bake 40-45 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.

5. Cool & Serve

Let cool 10 minutes in pan, then transfer to a wire rack.
